Does Appalachian Pipeline have its own welders?

Yes. We are a union contractor signatory to four crafts and self-perform fabrication and welding with qualified, inspected crews rather than subbing it out.

What kind of fabrication do you do?

Spool pieces, assemblies, station and meter-station piping, and tie-in fabrication for both mainline and facility work.

Pipeline Fabrication

A lot of a pipeline system is not straight run. It is the fittings, spools, and assemblies that turn corners, change size, and tie everything together. We self-perform fabrication for both mainline and station work, with qualified welders and our own crews.

Why self-perform fabrication

When the fabrication and the field crews are the same company, the hand-offs that usually cause delays and finger-pointing go away. We control the quality of the welds and the schedule because it is our people doing the work.
